This mandala was inspired on November 11, 2011. Everything I believe in for this world boils down to ‘Choosing Love 1st.’ With that, I believe comes peace, within and with out. This too, is like the circle of a mandala. As we each enhance peace or love within ourselves, so too is the other enhanced. And the circle of life continues.
This mandala is acrylic on canvas with 3-dimensional paint and Swarovski crystals.
The Mandala is found in all cultures and essentially all religions. The word ‘Mandala’ means ‘Sacred Circle.’ It is that which connects the inner part of us to the greater existence that is around us. They are used for meditation, healing and general peace. “When I paint the Mandala I am in a ‘state of Love’ which is a very nice place to be.” Uma Joy
In addition to the originals available and noted on the shop page, most of the paintings can be ordered as an embellished giclée (“gee-clay”). Technically, a giclée is a print. I use the term to mean a print on canvas. When I make a giclée, I take the print and add 3-dimensional paint, gold leafing (when shown on the original) and/or Swarovski crystals – making the giclée half-way between an original and a print. Thus, you may notice a difference in pricing on the giclées — the more detailed the original is – the more involved the embellishment becomes.
