Red Thread Circle
A Meaningful Way to Restore Connection – with Self, with Community
All of our workshops and gatherings are opened with a Red Thread Circle – some very brief, some more in depth – depending on the situation.
RED THREAD CIRCLE
The “Red Thread” is found in many cultures and traditions. It is often connected to the Red Tent, the hem of the garment, the thread of the Sacred Mother, and many other ideas. The legend that we often refer to is in the Chinese Legend that says “we are all connected, before birth, by an invisible Red Thread, to all that we are meant to meet in this life. This thread may stretch and tangle but it is never broken. (We have taken liberty to add: Perhaps it can intentionally be severed when the connection is complete …)
All of our workshops and gatherings are opened with a Red Thread Circle –some very brief, some more in depth depending on the situation. This is the time of introductions and connection. It includes an inquiry that can be as simple as “why are you here” or a “how did you get here” or may include the Intention for the session. There is never any pressure for people to speak, it is an offered opportunity to connect.
Red Thread Ceremonies or circles can be used for connection at any time. We use them for our workshops and retreats, they are used at weddings, family gatherings, “celebration of life gatherings”…they are used any time.
