Creative Musings – An Adventure in Art Journaling
February 17, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Creative Musings: An Adventure in Art Journaling
Join Uma Joy and Kelly Bonsall for our 4 weeks series of Creative Musings: An Art Journal Adventure. Join us for 1 or as many as you are called to. Held on Zoom -Every Thursday evening Feb 3- Feb 24,2022
Creative Musings is about developing a creative practice with heart centered connection. We draw, we paint, we reflect, we play and we have fun. We connect with the inner voice – or the Inner Muse – whatever you want to call her/him/they. Your Muse is waiting with a message for you. Are you ready to hear it? Kelly and Uma Love to create and paint. AND – they also know the value of Intentional Creativity® and the power it offers in ‘Awakening’ and Discovery. “Who is this inside that Creates?” “What is ready to be spoken or recovered in my life” Inquiries can be serious, yet allowing the answers can be playful and fun. Life is filled with choices and then we get to integrate those into our lives as we choose.
Art Journaling is a great way to reduce stress and to have fun while doing such. Explore new creative practices that will help you develop mindfulness and artistic technique. Take the time you deserve for your own self-care while connecting with others and learning fun, playful art skills. Learn about Intentional Creativity® which is an approach to art making that brings awareness to the power and magic of paying attention to your inner voice.
Each week has a different theme – We listen to the Muse to let us know. Examples of previous themes: How does it feel to live with Loving Kindness? What do I know for certain? I am a Sacred Being, What holds us back from starting NOW?, Gratitude Drawing, Spirit Wheel, What is at my Center Point? What is on my Lifeline? and so many more.
Each event will be recorded so you can join us “Live-Time” or watch in your own timing.
Absolutely no experience needed.
The supply list is simple: Art Journaling can be done with any mark-making tools you have available. We have had great success with a pencil, pen, and a highlighter. However, having a collection of simple art materials can make your creative practice more colorful and allow you to experiment with different techniques.pencil
- permanent/waterproof pen (sharpie ultra-fine and fine tip)
- Colored Pencils
- watercolors (simple palette is good)
- Acrylics a small variety of colors (we love Golden but Click and other brands are fine)
- paintbrushes: a few different sizes
- sketchbook or paper (heavyweight is best – We prefer the Canson XL mixed media spiral)
- Sometimes we will add collage to our painting – we will discuss in class
Feel free to collect and bring any other Art goodies you like to play with and here are some optional recommendations that we enjoy using: watercolor pencils, acrylic paints, water-soluble markers (Tombow and Crayola SuperTips), various pens (gel pens are fun).
Individually: $20/workshop Series of 4: only $70
