The Mandala is found in all cultures and essentially all religions. The word “Mandala” means “Sacred Circle.” It is that which connects the inner part of us to the greater existence that is around us. They are used for meditation, healing and general peace. “When I paint the Mandala I am in a “state of Love” which is a very nice place to be. ” Uma Joy
Although the ‘tree’ is not a circle, it is very often found in the mandala culture as it in in the circle of life.
In addition to the originals available and noted on the shop page, most of the paintings can be ordered as an embellished giclée (“gee-clay”). Technically, a giclée is a print. I use the term to mean a print on canvas. When I make a giclée, I take the print and add 3-dimensional paint, gold leafing (when shown on the original) and/or Swarovski crystals – making the giclée half-way between an original and a print. Thus, you may notice a difference in pricing on the giclées — the more detailed the original is – the more involved the embellishment becomes.
